HOW IT WORKS
1. SEND THE SOS
Contact Story SOS and tell us which service you're interested in:
Script Diagnosis • Script Rescue • Script Polish • Dialogue Punch-Up • Script Rewrite
You'll be asked to provide some basic information about your project, including your name, email address, project title, format, genre, logline/premise and a short summary of the story.
You don't need to send us your screenplay yet.
2. WE REVIEW THE PROJECT
Before reading your screenplay, we'll review the information you've provided.
This allows us to determine whether the requested service is suitable for your project and, importantly, identify any potential conflicts of interest with material already being developed independently by Story SOS.
If there is a significant conflict, we'll let you know and won't proceed with the project.
3. SEND YOUR SCREENPLAY
If everything looks good, we'll invite you to submit your screenplay.
You'll receive instructions for sending your script directly to Story SOS via email, along with confirmation of the service, price, turnaround time and any other relevant details.
Your screenplay is treated as confidential client material.
4. WE GET TO WORK
Now we read your screenplay closely and get to work.
What happens next depends on the service you've selected.
A Diagnosis identifies what's working, what isn't and why.
A Rescue goes further by developing creative solutions and a treatment for a stronger version of the story.
A Polish works directly on the screenplay to sharpen and refine the writing.
A Dialogue Punch-Up concentrates on making dialogue more natural, concise, distinctive and effective.
A Rewrite involves hands-on redevelopment and rewriting based on an agreed creative direction.
5. YOUR SCRIPTS COME BACK STRONGER
Once the work is complete, we'll send you the finished material electronically.
Depending on your service, this could include your script diagnosis, development notes, story treatment, polished screenplay, rewritten material or other agreed deliverables.
You'll then have something practical you can use to move forward with your next draft - rather than simply being told what's wrong.
